The package delivery scam

The missed delivery scam involves receiving a text message or email that claims a package could not be delivered. It requests that you click a link or call a number to reschedule the delivery. It may appear to be from USPS, UPS, Fedex, or Amazon, but it’s actually a fraudster. These messages are designed to trick you into clicking a link that may install malware or steal your personal information. Delivery companies don’t require additional information to deliver your package. Usually they will leave a sticky in your mailbox or on your door. If you receive a text or email, do not click on any links or call any numbers provided. It is safe to delete and ignore the message. It’s best to use the carriers website to get the status.
